The Best Multi-Use Eyeliner: Marc Jacobs Beauty Highliner

BEAUBIT shares its eyeliner pick: the Marc Jacobs Beauty Highliner Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner. Scroll down to enter our giveaway and win a set of 10 eyeliners.

Perfecting the winged eyeliner look shouldn’t be this hard; you’re always left with smudged under-eyes with a pencil liner, or the flick isn’t as sharp as you’d like when using liquid liner. If you need a little help, maybe start with the right tool.

Yes, not all eyeliners are created equally. The Marc Jacobs Beauty Highliner Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner (SGD39) is most definitely a must-buy, must-have. Its reputation probably already precedes it: long-wearing, non-draggy, and really pigmented.

The Highliner comes in a pencil-like, twist-up stick, with a sharpener at one end, perfect for on-the-go touch-ups. Plus, it can do anything: smoky eyes, winged liner, sharp lines. The formula is a little softer, so if you prefer crisp lines, sharpen the tip before you apply. And as smudgy as you’d like your look to be, once it sets, it’s on the whole day.

The best part? It comes in a variety of colours, for all your makeup-experimenting needs.

How To…

Winged liner: Use a thin liner brush for more precision. Drag the brush across the Highliner to pick up some product. Now press and drag it from the outer corner of your eye toward the middle, just above your pupil. Line again in the opposite direction, this time pulling from the inner corner of the eye toward the middle. Repeat with a dark eyeshadow to help set the liner in place.

Smoky eye: Press the tip of the pencil into the roots of your lashes and dab or sketch, side to side. Finish by layering on eyeshadow in a similar shade to create more intensity, or use a contrasting colour to create a bold look.

We’re giving away a set of 10 Marc Jacobs Beauty Highliner Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliners, worth S$390.
